MY Book has arrived!

Last November I participated in NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month. That means I cranked out a minimum 50,000 word novel without any outline, premeditation or editing! It's not Shakespeare, but by golly I did it! One of the "prizes" was a promo code to get a free proof copy from CreateSpace. You won't be able to find it at your local bookstore, but if I decided to make it available to the general public, you could get it from Amazon. Luckily for the general public, that's not going to happen! Not without some major editing, anyway.

What's it about? I guess I'd call it an Urban Fantasy. Fate and coincidence. Mythology from South America and Egypt. References to H.P. Lovecraft and Henry Kuttner. Seances with a Scrabble board. Fights to the death against hordes of rats, both human and rodent. Aren't you biting your nails in suspense just thinking about it?

  5. Wow! Now we can invite you to speak @ our book club! We love to have local area authors who agree to come for the great snacks, especially our fabulous secretary who brings dehydrated veggie chips to die for. Can we count on you fitting us into your schedule some 3rd. Friday of any month in 2011? Please say "Yes"! Is your next book going to be "lLosers Weepers?"I can hardly wait. This is soooo cool! Congrats!! Leanne

  6. You guys (gals) are too funny! Remember, this is just a totally unedited proof copy! It needs lots and lots of work to transform it from being embarrassingly bad.

Yet, I am still pleased with myself. How many people who say they're going to write a book actually finish it? It's an exercise in persistence, really, sort of like running a marathon.

  7. You should indeed be proud of yourself! A big pat on the back from a book club crony -
We will be able to say, "we knew her when..."
Remember that the author of the "Girl with the Dragon Tatoo" & "Harry Potter" were unknowns not too long ago...
Would you like editing suggestions when we do get around to reading it?
